Spring Break

Despite the fact that it has felt like winter all week, SPRING BREAK IS HERE!!!

And, the third nine weeks is officially over!

This year is flying by! I feel like spring break is here so much earlier this year. I'm not nearly as burnt out as I was by the time spring break got here last year.

We had 30 minute classes today and spent the last 2 hours of the day having a team day.

We took all but 19 students out to the football field for some free time to celebrate the end of the 9 weeks. The 19 who stayed in had some major assignments missing that they had to get done.

19 out of about 110 isn't too bad...

It was nice to get some fresh air and hang out with the students outside of the classroom.

One of the teachers I work with was a gymnast and still coaches gymnastics. So, she did some tumbling with the girls.

The boys had a pretty intense game of football going on.

They made it an hour and half before a fight happened. Of course the two hand tag rule had turned into tackling by that point, which led to more competition, which led to a little bit lot of anger that we didn't pick up on until it was too late.

The football field is a good distance from the school. We had a walkie talkie with us, but I knew no one was going to get there fast enough to break it up.

As I ran across the football field with another teacher, I was thinking the whole time I did not want to get in the middle of those two. One of them is a decent size boy.

Lucky for me their friends pulled them apart by the time we got there. The bigger boy broke free from his friends, but the other teacher was able to push him back and get him to calm down.

Once it was done, it was done. It's crazy to me how boys can do that...fight and be done with it. There will be consequences, but everyone else just went on about what they were doing.

It's all in a day's work!

Now, we will all enjoy a week off and then dive back in for 9 more weeks!
