Pi-Ku

It's that time of year again! We celebrated pi day a little bit late this year. Circles are now in our curriculum and it almost lined up perfectly with March 14th, but was a week off. Instead of interrupting what we were doing on March 14th to talk about pi and then do circles the next week, I decided, for the sake of my students' brains and to lessen their confusion, to wait and talk about pi when we were talking about circles.

I almost didn't do the poem, but they are always so entertaining that I couldn't skip it.

Here are some of my favorite pi-kus.

Pi is a math term
A HUGE unstopping number
Pi is confusing
J.M.

Pi is a number
That will go on forever
It will never end
S.T.

You're irrational
You're a very long number
I still like you though
C.B.

 Pi has four numbers
Three point fourteen, don't forget
Helps do circumference
M.M.

Pi you disgust me
I thought you were food to eat
But you are digits
C.W.

I just measured you.
I found out you are not big.
And you equal 3
D.B.

Snyder showed us Pi
I don't like oatmeal cream pies
Learning pi is fun
C.E.

Not that new to me
Don't make that much sense to me
But I like to learn
K.R.
