My poor blog has been lacking in attention the past few weeks. We have been going full speed without slowing down...until today when I took the day off.
A few updates:
We are all moved in and settled. If you know me, you know I spent our first night here unpacking everything. The hard part was getting pictures on the wall and curtains hung. After several trips to the store to get the right curtains and the right curtain rods, and after putting numerous holes in the wall, most of the pictures are hung and the curtains are up!
A week ago I finished my last unit of new instruction with my students. We have been deep in EOG review ever since. We have an intense 40 minute review session in the morning with certain target students pulled out. And then, I've also been reviewing in class. This is our last week of EOG review and then EOGs start! The end of the year is coming fast!
This past weekend Stephen and I had 5 places to be at once. Four of our really good friends were getting married on Saturday (2 weddings), Allyson and Blaine (Stephen's bff) were graduating from High Point University, we were invited to another wedding reception of 2 really good friends, as well as a graduation party for Blaine. We were able to hit 3 out of the 5. Friday night I went to High Point and enjoyed a delicious steak dinner at the 5-star steakhouse on High Point's campus. We got up at 6am Saturday morning and headed to campus for graduation. Laura Bush, former first lady, walked right past me. Graduation ended at 12, we took pictures, and ate lunch. I left High Point at 3:30 and headed straight to South Carolina for one of the weddings. And then, drove home. Stephen got up Saturday morning at 6 as well and drove to the Outer Banks for the other wedding and then drove home. Sunday was full of church, a quick nap, and then I went and saw Wicked at the DPAC while Stephen went and hung out with Tyler Zeller at church with the youth.
This week is teacher appreciation at school and I am starting the week with a day off to recover from the craziness of this past weekend.
And now, I leave with a few pictures from the weekend that was crazy, but so worth it!
