My Mom

Today is mother's day and I have been blessed with a fabulous mom! In honor of her, I give you the top ten things I love about her. This list is certainly not exhaustive and is in no particular order.

1. I love that my mom loves the Lord.

2. I love that my mom loves my dad.

I'll never forget one day I asked her if she had to choose between me and Allyson or dad who she would pick. Without pausing to think for one second, she said dad. At the time it hurt my feelings. How could she choose dad over her own daughters? But now I understand the love she was showing and living out for me to see toward my father.

3. I love that my mom humbly keeps her opinions to herself and doesn't talk crap or gossip about others.

4. I love that my mom loves to lay out all day with me on the beach.

5. I love the way the dumbest things make my mom laugh uncontrollably...often to the point of tears.

6. I love the way my mom teaches me and Allyson from the mistakes she has made instead of trying to hide them out of embarrassment or pride

7. I love the fact that my mom is a crazy driver even if she tries to hide it when Allyson and I are in the car.

8. I love my mom's awesome Thumper impression (yes, the rabbit from Bambi)...ask her about it!

9. I  love the way my mom loves me and Allyson and how proud of us she is.

10. I love how the smallest significant moment in anyone's life brings my mom to tears. 

I used to make fun of her for this, but I find myself becoming more and more like her in this way...shhh don't tell her.
