New Advent Calendar

I decided it was time for a new advent calendar. Our original one was beginning to fall apart and I felt like something a little more sophisticated was needed in our new house.

I searched Pinterest for DIY advent calendars and there really aren't that many ideas out there. I found this image and used it for my inspiration.

I made a trip to Michaels and got the following:
Foam Poster Board
Frame
Brown Paper Bag Envelopes
Christmas Washi Tape
Christmas Decor Items I could Glue on
Mini Christmas Clothes Pins
Red and White Gift Tags
Stamps (Allyson had some I used too)
Rubber Cement
Ink Pad

$100 and one Saturday afternoon later, I had our new advent calendar.

I laid all of the envelopes out and decorated/stamped them as I went. I was very proud that I got all of the numbers stamped on the first try. I had to re-do some of the words that I stamped. I saved the numbers until last to be sure I had it laid out like I wanted so I worked really hard not to mess those up.

I re-typed all of our activities and glued them onto the gift tags.

Usually I try and plan out the actual dates and put the activities in the right pocket. I put the calendar together much earlier this year so I just stuck the activities in randomly. It's been fun to flip them each day, not sure what's going to be on the other side!

It looks great hanging on our wall!

Before and After!
