So Close...

Two days of testing down.

Two more to go.

These last two are much shorter (thank goodness!)

I had my first student ever to take the FULL 4 hours alloted for testing.

I thought surely she would finish 60 problems by then...nope

My other students were all done at the 2.5 or 3 hour mark and had to wait...poor kids...

They did so well!

One of my boys who is NEVER quiet finished his math test in an hour (we won't talk about my anger at him for that...let's just say I could not have finished that test in an hour)

He sat S.I.L.E.N.T. for three hours....and I mean S.I.L.E.N.T...not a peep.

I was amazed.

I learned this week as I watched many of my students sleep that one of my students sucks her thumb.

That can be a sweet habit and make kids look cute, but not so much when a 7th grader does it.

Do you know how hard it is to keep 7th graders from laughing when one of their classmates starts snoring REALLY loud?

Or, when one accidentally passes gas and their surprised face when they realize the whole class heard them because it is dead silent makes you almost bust out laughing too?

It's really hard...just remember...avoid all eye contact...keep a serious face...it scares them back to focus.

Why does walking s...l...o...w...l...y around a room for 3 (or 4) hours wear you out so much?

I came home and took a nap Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon

Read this blog post for a great explanation of the cruel and unusual punishment that testing is on testing administrators and proctors.

Why do students go N.u.T.s. after testing is over?

The afternoons after testing don't bother me; I totally understand their stir craziness

But, today...my goodness...chill.out.7th.graders.

We were treated to an ice cream truck by our administrators today. Yummy!

5 more days...2 full days...3 half days...

Operation clean and pack up Mrs. Snyder's classroom will be in full effect next week with yearbook signing and coloring thrown in for fun!

Summer is so close...
