Keeping it Real

I was late to work today because I couldn't decide what to wear this morning.

I ended up putting on something that I wasn't thrilled about, but it had to work because it was 2 minutes past the time where I should have left 5 minutes ago.

However, I was feeling pretty good about myself when one of my students commented on how cute I looked today.

And then, I was feeling even better when one of my students who isn't known for positive comments said, "Is there ever going to be a day where you look ugly? Like seriously? Just one day where you don't look good?"

Then, just to keep me humble I think, in my next class, a boy was sitting upside down in his chair (don't ask...he was seated and quiet). When I leaned over him he said, "Mrs. Snyder, no offense, but you have a fat neck."

No worries, when I pretended not to hear him and therefore not respond, he felt the need to say it three more times...until a female student spoke up and said, "OH MY GOSH you are so mean!"

His response to her was, "What? I said no offense...??"

Lessons from today:
Apparently I do a decent job of dressing myself
I probably shouldn't stop working out anytime soon...wouldn't want my neck to get any fatter

Oh 7th graders and their uncensored honesty...
