First, 2014 DIY ornament edition: Scrabble Tile Ornaments
I didn't know this until recently, but apparently you can buy packs of scrabble tiles on amazon. So, I ordered two sets just to be sure I had enough.
Then, I arranged them into the words I wanted. I cut out strips from a Bath and Body Works bag because they are especially Christmasy right now and used them for the backing to help have something to glue to. I used regular Elmer's glue to glue everything together.
To complete them, I glued red ribbon to the back of each one. I thought they turned out great! I even kept one for our tree.
My second project: Mason Jar Gifts.
My cousins are at that age where gift cards seem to be the most practical gift. However, just giving money or a gift card isn't all that fun. I found this cool idea on Pinterest where you "hide" the gift card inside a jar of their favorite candy.I used toilet paper rolls to hold the gift cards and then placed the candy around the rolls. They don't look great from above, but from the outside they do! :)
