I had my first cold of the year this past week. While I didn't feel great, it didn't completely wipe me out physically. However, it did wipe me out mentally. I don't remember a cold that has ever made my head feel so foggy. I would wander around my room during planning wondering what in the world I should be doing only to realize an hour and half had passed and only two things had been accomplished. One day after school, it took me 30 minutes to write a four sentence email. Now, I just have a really runny nose. Hopefully I can blow all of the fogginess out this weekend and have a more productive week next week. Sleeping in until noon on Saturday was definitely a good start to the weekend and healing process.
My Brightlink is officially installed and working! It took all week to complete the process, but was totally worth it! Getting rid of the projector cart in the front of my room has opened it up so much! I half way figured out how to use the thing on my own. When I officially used it on Friday with the pen, there were silent gasps of awe in all of my classes. My students are dying to write on it. It's really cool; I'll have to take some pictures to show you. Writing on the whiteboard with regular markers was getting really old so I'm thankful for the technology update.
Next week is the end of the first 9 weeks and the beginning of many short weeks in a row! We have a teacher work day next week. We're out of school for election day. We're out of school for Veteran's Day. And, then Thanksgiving break is just a week after that! I love this time of year!
