Last weekend Stephen and I made a quick trip to the mountains to see the leaves and catch up with some friends. We got to spend Friday night with Steph and Savva eating at one of our favorite places, feeding the ducks, and playing Friends Scene It! Saturday we got breakfast with a friend, lunch with some other friends and dessert with another friend. It was a beautiful day out and we even squeezed in some shopping on King St. We stopped on the parkway on the way to Grandma and Pa's for dinner to check out the leaves. The leaves weren't as bright and pretty as we expected, but we got to see a few good trees. It was great to be back in Boone even it was for less than 24 hours...we miss it!

This is my favorite tree in Boone. It always changes first and never disappoints with its color. The leaves fall off long before everything else changes, but for the first few days of the color change, it is beautiful!
