TGIF

Man! It has been a looooong week. I am so glad to see Friday get here and to know that the majority of my week next week will be spent doing an in class project aka not a week filled with a lot of direct instruction.

I ended the week getting observed in my 5th period class. I can't think of a better time to get observed than during the last class on Friday of the first "for real" full 5-day work week since Christmas. (can you detect my sarcasm?) Although, I will admit it probably was beneficial for my 5th period class because it made me really step up my game even though I was mentally and physically drained for the day.

The good part for me was how well students behave when an administrator is in the room. My 4th period was cRaZy today so hearing my 5th period quiet down when the assistant principal walked in was so nice.

Remember how I said 7th graders will hate you one minute and then be fighting for you the next? It's amazing how well they act when they have the chance to make you look good. When I get observed all I have to say is, "Will you do me a favor and be really good today?" as I gesture/draw their attention to the administrator in the room.

5th period today was not one of my shining moments in the classroom. The quiet and somewhat active participation was nice. And, honestly I was too tired to really care.

This weekend I'm headed to Charleston for Laura's bachelorette party! Not only do I get to celebrate with Laura this weekend, but I get to spend the weekend and a lot of time in the car with Steph!!

TGIF! Happy weekend!
