Week One

Week one of the 2014-2015 school year is done! It's nice that a long weekend follows that first week. I was surprised at how not tired I was this past week. I was wiped out on Friday, but overall, the exhaustion wasn't too bad!

My classes are HUGE this year. Every class (except for one) is right at 30 students. I'm in a new, smaller classroom (post coming soon) that makes squeezing 30 students in a bit difficult.

A big class makes a lot of things difficult, but we're getting the kinks worked out. Walking to and from lunch has been the biggest battle. When your class takes up 3/4 of the hallway, it's hard to keep everyone quiet. It's like I need three Mrs. Snyders to keep the line in tact and quiet. We're getting there though! A threat of silent lunch in the classroom along with practicing walking in a line in the hall is helping!

I always ask my students to share with me what they would tweet or instagram about their first day of 7th grade. I always think their drawings are so interesting!

After a lot of school work this weekend along with one more day at the pool, I think I'm ready for week 2!
