Motown Throw Down

We started the month going to the Patton vs. Freedom football game. This is a big rivalry around here and it did not disappoint. This year Patton won for the first time ever. We have students at both schools, but were secretly pulling for Patton.

OCC Shoe Box Packing Party

The church hosted a shoe box packing party with a goal of 200 shoe boxes. Stephen challenged the students to pack 100 of those 200 boxes. If they did, he would do a ridiculous dance. They did. And he danced. It was great!

DJPDOGG Concert

A friend of ours from Durham is a DJ and was in the area this month. So Stephen got him to come do a concert for the students in Morganton. It wasn't as well attended as we hoped, but everyone there had a great time!

Rend Collective Concert

A mid-week, late night concert is not my thing, but somehow Stephen keeps talking me into going to them. This one was REALLY good and I'm really glad I went. Rend Collective puts on a great show! Not to mention the company was great!

Forest Fires

The wildfires were crazy this month and got a little too close for comfort. It didn't directly threaten our house, but it did for several families in our church. Thankfully no structures were lost before they could get it under control. The smoke was terrible in all of Morganton though.

Steph & Laura (and Raylan!) Visited

Thankfully the air cleared long enough for Laura and Steph to come for a visit. We had a great time watching movies and just catching up! Not to mention Raylan was so fun to snuggle and play with!

Tree Lighting

We spent most of our time at the house catching up that weekend, but we did venture out in the cold to see Morganton light up downtown for Christmas.

Home for Thanksgiving

We did a lot of back and forth traveling for Thanksgiving, but it was so fun to see and hang out with family!

Survived the Craziness that is 

halloween + time change + election week + super moon + wild fires (aka no outside time) + thanksgiving

There is no tired like teacher tired after that combination!

Courtney's Wedding

We ended our Thanksgiving travels celebrating the marriage of Courtney and Will. It was a beautiful wedding on a hill under a beautiful tree at sunset.
