I got the honor and privilege of advising SGA this year with my teammate. SGA hasn't really been done well in several years at Liberty so we had a clean slate to work with.
We had some ideas, but wanted to hear what the students wanted to do as well.
Their first idea was to do a school wide pink out day in honor of breast cancer.
It happened to coincide with spirit week, which was perfect!
We encouraged everyone to wear pink and offered prizes to the most pink. Each homeroom teacher got to choose the top 3 most pinked out students to win an individual prize. SGA came up with the idea to make water bottles with pink lemonade attached and a quote.
Then, the homeroom with the most pink got donuts for breakfast! We had two homerooms win...everyone in their room had pink on.
Leading up to the week, we made signs and hung them around the school and read a breast cancer statistic everyday to raise awareness on the announcements.
The Pink Out day was a huge success!
Then we offered free pink face painting at the football game. Not as many people were interested in that as I had hoped, but they still had fun!
