Stephen and I have started a tradition of Chick-Fil-A breakfast on the first day of school. The sunrise on the way there was incredible!
It was a bit of a crazy start to the first week of school with two unscheduled fire drills. The first one was pulled and we treated it like a drill; the second one was (kind of) real. There was some smoke in one of the gyms that sent us out for about an hour. Our students handled it all like champs, but it definitely made it tough to get into the groove of school. It wasn't until Friday that I felt like I had a handle on the flow of class and the schedule, then it was the weekend. Not that I'm complaining about that! I'm just hoping next week that flow will continue!
We did get some math in this week and learned about prime and composite numbers. One class (thanks to the hour long fire drill) got to play this fun Prime or Composite Fruit Ninja game!
I always ask students what they would post on social media about their first day of school...and for this group their first day of middle school. Their drawings are always great!
Notice how many likes these students gave themselves! :)
Growing a beard in 6th grade!
And I'm pretty excited about working with these two awesome ladies this year! You know you make a good team when you all show up in the same outfit unplanned!
