Big Changes

...of the hair category that is.

I've always wanted to donate my hair, but every time I start growing it out, I get tired of it and am not brave enough to cut it as short as it would need to be cut in order to donate it.

My hair cut routine is usually a major cut once a year around the beginning of school. Well, this past school year, I didn't want to do a major cut at the beginning of the year because Stephen and I had professional pictures scheduled for the fall. I didn't want to risk having a bad hair cut in our pictures, so I waited. I got my hair trimmed for the pictures and planned to get it chopped off a few weeks later. Well, it never got on my nerves and I was enjoying it long.

(...SO much hair! She had to cut it off in two sections and even then the scissors were having a hard time cutting through it. It was over 10 inches long when I got home and measured it!)

My hair grows really fast and kept getting longer and longer.

As the summer approached, it was getting pretty broken at the ends, but I wanted to wait until the end of the school year.

Then summer started and pool/beach weather was upon us. Having that much hair to deal with in salt or chlorine water is not so fun.

I also sleep with my hair up to keep it out of my way. My ponytail had gotten so long that I was waking up with it wrapped around my neck. It obviously wasn't choking me; I just didn't like my hair wrapped all around me...that's why I sleep with it up every night.

So, I decided it was finally time to chop it off.

By this time it has been almost two years since I did a major cut and I knew it was long enough to donate.

So, I got brave and did it. I'm not a huge fan of change and last time a I did a major major cut like this in college, I hated it. However, my hair dresser now is awesome! I took her pictures of cuts I liked and the cut that I really didn't like. She did an awesome job!

Banded, bagged, and ready to ship!
