Five. F.I.V.E. five years old...How can you be 5?
You have grown so much in every way!
You are still a great eater! Alfredo is still your favorite, but you impress us with your love for veggies too! You keep it balanced well with ice cream. :)
You are still a great sleeper. We've dealt with some seasons of early waking. We started an incentive chart to get you to wait until your light is green to come out of your room. We also used this time to teach you how to use the bathroom and get water on your own in the middle of the night. You quickly gained that independence with a little guiding from us. We also moved Kinsley into your room so Haddon could have the nursery. This has taken us into another season of early waking that we're working through. I'm impressed every night though how you get in your bed and fall asleep so quickly, completely un-phased by your sister who takes longer to settle down.
You are our little creator and can often be found doing any kind of craft all day, everyday.
You started taking dance and you love it!
You were so excited when you found out I was pregnant. You asked all the pregnancy questions.
"How do you sleep with a baby in your tummy?"
"How did the baby sleep last night?"
"Don't get the baby wet when you take a shower."
You were so excited about Haddon and such a big helper!
And you are just the sweetest big sister!
You were so happy to find out you were having a brother.
You said "It would be more boring if we had another sister."
You love weddings. If a show or movie has a wedding in it, you want to watch it over and over again. You pretend to be a bride. You play wedding with your Barbie's. And you loved being a flower girl in Rebecca's wedding.
You love school! And they love you!
You did some speech sessions with Lisa and excelled quickly with correcting some of your pronunciation errors.
You did some speech sessions with Lisa and excelled quickly with correcting some of your pronunciation errors.
You started learning lower case letters and this was our conversation.
"Mommy, did you see my name I brought home?"
(It was a piece of paper with your name written in all capital letters)
"We were supposed to leave it at school, but I brought it home."
I asked if we needed to send it back.
I asked if we needed to send it back.
"No. I was supposed to write it with lower case letters, but I didn't so I brought it home."
I said, "So you're working on lower case letters?"
You responded, "Yea. They're terrible. But the L is just a straight line!"
You love spending time with family and we love spending time with you!
You got to go see Frozen at the DPAC with Mema. It was such a special afternoon!
You and Chuck keep your garden fresh with flowers!
You LOVE swimming! The beach, lake, river, and pool are all favorites!
You got your first hair cut this year. You want Rapunzel hair so we just trimmed the ends. You loved the princess treatment!
We got in our wreck and you broke your femur this year. You were so resilient and so brave. It was such a hard time, but you were a rock star and handled it like a champ!
Bordem set in though and you found other outlets for your creativity to pass the time...
Your first ride in the car seat after getting your cast off.
(A week or so post cast removal)
Some other favorites from the past year:
You discovered Home Town this year and love watching it.
You call Awana Moana and I don't ever want to correct you.
Instead of saying what in the world, you would say, "What in the Holy Spirit?!"
Or instead of holy moly, you'd say "Oh my holy mommy!"
The way you would say "I love you 89!"
Meaning a whole lot!
Chloe Grace, we love you 89 a million! We are so proud of you and the little girl that you are. You are so sweet and kind. Another mom commented at your birthday party about how inclusive you are. She said she watched you keep an eye on everyone else to be sure no one was being left out. She said no wonder everyone loves Chloe so much! Keep smiling and loving big, sweet girl!
