Haddon James: Two Months

Now that we're three days away from you being 3 months, I thought I should write your 2 month post.

Oh what a month(s)...I considered putting months 2 and 3 together, but decided to stick with my pattern despite month 2 being a bit of a blur...2 days into month 2 of your life, we were in a bad wreck where Chloe broke her femur, spent 3 days in the hospital, 6 weeks in a spica cast, and 2+ more weeks not walking...life was a little crazy, but you were a ray of sunshine everyday!

You are 12 pounds 11 oz (61st %tile)

and 24.4" (96th %tile) long.

You are in size 2 diapers and 3 month clothes.

You are a great eater!

And a great sleeper! You pretty consistently only wake up once a night. And then you eat and go right back down. You really like being swaddled and only break out of it if it isn't tight. We switched you to the pack and play downstairs, out of the bassinet. I slept down there with you for about a week while Mema was with us helping us get through the initial days after the wreck. You've done great sleeping down there by yourself.

You went through a phase where you didn't love the swing, but have decided you like it again and will cat nap in it from time to time.

You've learned to like baths as long as I make sure the part where your back touches isn't cold and you aren't tired.

You like looking at Truett's black and white picture and our black and white wedding picture we have hanging on the wall. We can tell your eyesight is increasing as you grow.

You've started smiling and babbling!

Mema and Allyson were life savers that first week after the wreck. You got lots of snuggles from them and learned to take a bottle.

You didn't always love going to sleep for them, but we made it through with a little creativity!

Family walks looked a little different for a few weeks.

You celebrated your first holiday, Halloween. You were the cutest little Olaf there was!

Mema and Poppy are big fans of you! You always seem to get handed to Poppy when you're tired. He just snuggles you while you scream until I come back to get you.

We're all pretty crazy about you...

but Kinsley might be your biggest fan! I can't believe she didn't get you sick this month. She stayed snotty and we constantly had to tell her to get out of your face.

You got to meet a lot of family. Not the circumstances we preferred, but sweet times nonetheless.

While this is not how I would have picked to spend my early weeks with you, we're so smitten with you and grateful for any time we get with you, sweet boy! Thank you for being so chill and go with the flow...and not a baby that screams nonstop. :)
