Kinsley Faith: 2 Years Old

You are 2!
You are 27 pounds and 9 ounces. (60th %tile)
You are 35 inches tall. (87th %tile)
You are in 2T clothes, size 5 or 6 shoes, and size 5 diapers.

You are still a great sleeper. You sleep from 7-6:30ish and take one mid-day nap after lunch for a good hour and a half to two hours.

You still love to snack and that often ruins you eating a big meal when it is meal time. You get your sweet tooth honest. "Pops" (dum dum lolipops) have been the latest favorite, but we're trying to reduce those because you bite them way before they should be bitten and we're worried about your teeth! If we can hold off on too many snacks, you eat really well at meals. We still occasionally put you in your high chair, but for the most part you sit at the big table with us. If you sit on your knees, you can reach fine and are happy with that. So I didn't end up needing a seat for the bench after all.

We all got Covid at the end of January. It was very mild, but hit you the hardest out of the four of us. You spiked a fever in the middle of the night one night and were super tired for several days. You never really coughed much, but your nose was runny for a while. It was very cold and a little snowy during our quarantine so we were all going a bit stir crazy by the end with too much screen time.

Speaking of screen time, you love to watch "baby" on a phone and can operate a phone pretty impressively for a 2 year old. You also like to watch "baby TV" (Cocomelon) and will dance and sing along unless you have found a pillow and a blanket to snuggle up with. You always ask for baby after you're upset about something.

You went through a little hitting phase and being in trouble makes you cry big tears. Now when you get mad, you like to scream or spit at whoever you're mad at. Correcting you for that makes you cry too.

You still suck your fingers when you're being shy or you're tired or you're upset.

Yellow is your favorite color. You say that everything is yellow!

You can walk down the stairs now without having to crawl down them backwards. You've fallen a few times, but usually maneuver them really well. It still makes me nervous to watch, but your coordination with them is impressive.

You are still doing great staying with Jeannene. You love Ollie and Judson and you love jumping on their trampoline! Oh! And going to see Dude!

You love to play with babies and do a great job taking care of them. You put them to bed with a blanket, tell them night night, turn the light off, and shut the door. You take them for walks in the stroller. You feed them in their high chair and with a bottle. You also love real babies and always want to hold them when we see one. When you pretend to cook, you ask us if we want any "yah yah." We're not sure why you call food "yah yah," but even when you're asking for a snack, you say that.

You are a momma's girl! You say "Mommy" about a million times every afternoon when I get home from school. If you are talking to me, you always start the sentence with Mommy and if I don't respond in a satisfactory way, you keep saying Mommy over and over again until I say whatever it is you want me to say. It's a fun guessing game that often ends in me saying "Stop saying Mommy!" Ha! You also went through a why phase where you asked why about everything!

You love Daddy too, though! Y'all have had a lot of Daddy-Kinsley days lately and love playing in the back yard together!

We had a fun day at the zoo in October with Stephanie and Amara. You love Facetiming with Amara.

You love "Mama" and "Papa" too and don't like for us to correct you to Mema and Poppy. You still ask about Papa's Ho Ho every time you see or talk to them.

We dressed you up as Raggedy Ann for Halloween. Mommy, Daddy, and Chloe got stranded in Atlanta on Halloween on the way back from Chris' wedding so Mema got to celebrate Halloween with you on Halloween, but we celebrated again the next day with Chloe.

You love to be read to!

You don't love being cold, but you do enjoy playing outside!

You always wanted to go out in the snow, but you never lasted long. You would say "Kinsley cold!"
You loved sledding though and running down the road in the snow.

You LOVE animals! Jax is probably your favorite, but any dog or cat we see, you ask to hug it.

You are so silly and you know it! You love to get people laughing at you. At your 2 year well check, Daddy said you showed off for the nurses so much and had them all laughing.

You discovered Chloe's unicorn costume and love to put it on and run circles around the house giggling.

You and Chloe play well together most of the time. If you argue, it's over whether or not something is yours. We hear "mine!" often from you.

You got a lot of time with family over the holidays and loved it!

You let Poppy drive you on the tractor. This is the first time you've been willing to ride it. At one point he went down a hill a little too quickly for you and you were all done.

Over Christmas, you loved Ho Ho! You would argue if someone called him Santa. "No it Ho Ho!" Papa got a big blow up Santa and going to see "Papa's Ho Ho" was a favorite!

We got to spend a weekend with the Stockhams and you jump right in with the big kids every time!

You are silly and feisty! You bring so much joy to our lives everyday! We're so grateful for you and proud of you.

You loved for people to sing Happy Birthday to you, You would sing "Happy me!" to let someone know you wanted to be sung to.
