Chloe's Nursery

Mom and Allyson came up this past weekend to go to a concert in Asheville. We've had this planned for a while as Mom's Christmas present. It just happened to line up perfectly as the weekend after our first baby shower and after black Friday (aka the day I bought all of the furniture we needed for the nursery).

The concert was on Thursday so that meant I had all day Friday and Saturday with them here to help. I had school Friday, but Stephen was off and they ran some errands while I was at work. We got a surprise snow storm and I ended up getting out of school early.

From the time I got home from school at 2 until 10 or 11 we worked our tails off. Saturday didn't require as much physical labor, but we worked a lot more on Saturday too.

Here are the before pictures:
The office had become our holding spot for all things baby. It got so overwhelming, I kept the door shut until Allyson made me get in there and start pulling stuff out.
We had to combine the office and guest room and combine the closets as well as shuffle furniture. We started by pulling everything out, rearranging furniture, and then putting it all back together.

During the process:

I was SO tired...I let Allyson take over and I laid on the couch.

Since you can't paint when you're pregnant, mom and Allyson took on the painting tasks for the weekend. It's amazing how much faster painting a dresser goes with 2 people!
Exhausted doesn't begin to describe how I felt (apparently the pups felt the same way...they were tired from playing in the snow though) at the end of the weekend. However, I'm confident this nursery would not have gotten done without my awesome mom and slave driver amazing sister! ;)

I love how it has turned out so far. Even though it is not 100% complete, it won't take much more work to complete. We have a place to change her diaper, rock her, and lay her down to sleep.

And the new office/guest room/storage room.
