Twas the Week Before Christmas Break...

All through the school not a student was quiet, not even one...

I hear elementary teachers have it really rough the week three weeks before Christmas. The excitement of the kids increases exponentially everyday! Well, it isn't limited to elementary kids. Middle schoolers get excited too and it's so fun if you just embrace the excitement and chaos!

We had a Christmas spirit week, which was so fun! There were multiple schedules floating around the school. Each grade level had a different schedule and then some teams within the grades even differed some. So, essentially the entire school dressed Christmasy all week and it was a blast!

I also squeezed in my annual Frosty relay. My kids in Marion didn't get as into it as my kids in Durham did, but still seemed to enjoy it!

The week before Christmas was also my last week teaching in McDowell County so the last three days consisted of quite dramatic good byes, LOTS of very sweet cards, and "selfies!"

The "fun" didn't stop at school...one day after work, I came home to this...

Because of some sketchy events in the neighborhood earlier that week, we were pretty sure confident this was NOT a prank. Looking back, we might have been a bit dramatic, but our landlord recommended we let the police know. After spending a while talking to them and all of the neighbors, all we could really do was wait for the city to come pick it up.
Then, at the end of the week, at our Youth Leaders Christmas party we were gifted this gem...

Yep, they got us good!

Needless to say, the week before Christmas break was full of fun!
