My Students...

...say the craziest things!

When I was telling them I'm going to Haiti over spring break, one girl speaks up and says, "Oh man! I LOVE African food!"
I politely explained to her that Haiti is not in Africa and even showed her on the map where Africa and where Haiti are.
A few minutes later she says, "Mrs. Snyder, seriously! Will you bring me back something eat? I really like African food."
Me: "HAITI IS NOT IN AFRICA!!"

Then, another student asked if I was going to drive to Haiti.
I was still standing by the map so I pointed to all of the blue between the US and Haiti and said, "Yep! I'm going to drive my car right over all of this water!"
She just rolled her eyes and didn't find it nearly as hilarious as everyone else!

A student was looking at one of the wedding pictures I have posted in my room today that's in black and white. He said, "Mrs. Snyder, did you get married before they had colored photography?"
Me: "Yea I did."

Another student asked me the other day what people wore in 1987...
When I told him regular clothes, he said, "Oh, I wrote down parachute pants."

You may have seen this one on Facebook, but just in case you missed it or want to laugh again:
While sharing good things, a boy raised his hand and exclaimed, "I saw someone make out this weekend!"
As I looked at him grossed out and confused, he says, "What? I've never seen it in real life before and now I have!"

One more day, yall! I think we all are in desperate need of spring break!
