You are 4! I can hardly believe it. This year you transformed from a toddler to a preschooler in the blink of an eye. Watching you grow makes me incredibly proud and sad for the little days that we're leaving behind.
You are kind, sweet, creative, encouraging, empathetic and a loving big sister.
Since turning 3, you officially are out of all diapers and pull ups. I let you pretty much night time train yourself. Once you stayed dry for multiple nights in a row, we moved away from pull ups and you have only had a couple of accidents. You were officially, fully potty trained last summer.
You still love to have a talking stick in your hand when you're in your imaginary world and you don't like for anyone to watch you. Your imagination is impressive and once you've had enough interaction with people, you go outside with your talking sticks and get in your own little world. Sometimes you sing. Sometimes you make up your own stories. You are so creative!
You got to go to a couple of gymnastics camps last summer and loved it! We had your 4th birthday at gymnastics and it was so fun!
After a year at home, you started preschool this year. You initially started at Mt. Sylvan. While it was ok, you weren't thriving there. I heard about Mangum's 3 year old class and decided to give it a shot. You got in and have loved it and have thrived. You love going to school. You love your friends. You love your teachers. And you are learning so much! It has been such a blessing.
You came home and wrote your name for us for the first time in October.
Your talents continue to amaze us. You are so good at the Highlights picture finds. When we first started doing them, I assumed you had done them with someone else, but then we got a new one in and you could find the hidden pictures so fast!
You did Awana this past year and did so well. We weren't the most on top of memorizing the verses, but your brain learns so fast that I could usually go over the verses with you a day or 2 before and you'd have it memorized. You called it Moana all season long. It was too cute to correct you.
You started speech therapy with Lisa after Ms. Sara mentioned some articulation errors she had noticed. We had noticed them too, but didn't think anything about them. While you probably would have outgrown them, we decided to go ahead and get a few sessions in. You have done so well and picked up the proper articulation so quickly! While I'm sad you don't say "pider" anymore for spider, it is impressive to hear you so naturally say spider.
You are SO excited about being a big sister! You are going to be the biggest helper with the new baby and he is going to have multiple mommas I'm sure. You are already such a great big sister to Kinsley. You love to teach her and show her things.
You love to watch Home Town and often you like to pretend you're Erin and daddy is Ben and that you all are building houses together.
You are still a great eater. Alfredo and spaghetti are your favorites! You love pickles as well and have recently started preferring having salad at Chick-Fil-A instead of a kids meal. Guacamole, cheese dip, sweets, and tomatoes are all favorites too.
You love to be outside. You have mastered the balance bike and your scooter! And you love playing with Mia any chance you get. You love your playground and Chuck has turned you into a little gardener.
You love to dress up and will often go through multiple princess dresses in one play session. You were so proud to buy me my own Belle costume for Mother's Day. You love when I dress up as Belle with you.
You have been back and forth with naps. You gave them up when we were home together, but started napping again when you started school. At Mt. Sylvan you were taking 2+ hour naps and it made bed time ROUGH! At Mangum you sleep about an hour. It's rare you nap when you're home on the weekends, but occasionally you'll fall asleep with me or just get in your bed during quiet time and go to sleep. You're a great night time sleeper. We're still mastering those early mornings, but your clock and some bribery has helped a lot recently with keeping you in your room.
You love your people!
You were so much fun at the beach this past year!
Some of your favorite friends
You loved riding rides at the fair this year!
You were a flower girl in Chris and Jessica's wedding. You loved every second of it and were such a good travel buddy! Then, we had the best time with them when they came to visit at Christmas.
Another highlight was getting to see Disney on Ice and having front row seats!
Riding the tractor with Pa is still a must every time we're there!
Some other favorites of you from the past year!
Christmas day playing with your new princess dolls.
Swimming in the indoor pool at Grandma's when we stayed in the hotel.
