Chloe Grace: 3 Months

At 2.5 months, you weighed 11 pounds and 12.5 ounces.
Based on our unofficial weigh in here at home, you're around 13 pounds now.

You are wearing size one diapers.

You are wearing 0-3 month and 3 month clothes, but they're starting to get a little snug.
You've worn some 3-6 month things.

This month we transitioned you out of the swaddle.
We moved to the Love to Dream Swaddle Up first, then the Zipadee Zip.
We went to the Swaddle Up for naps for several days, but still swaddled you at night. Once you mastered naps in the Swaddle Up, we started using that at night as well.
After several days of you doing naps and nights in the Swaddle Up, we started using the Zipadee Zip for naps. Once you mastered that for naps, we switched to nights in that as well and you're doing great. I think you like having access to your hands and being able to move around. We'll keep you in the Zipadee Zip for a while.

You had your first (what we thought was) sick day.
One Saturday, you woke up from your morning nap like usual and got a little fussy. It was time to eat so I tried to feed you. You started nursing and almost immediately started screaming like you were in pain. I could not get you to eat without screaming. So, I held you while you screamed until you fell asleep on my chest. You slept for almost an hour in my arms. When you woke up, you seemed happy so we played for a little bit and when you got fussy again, I tried to feed you again. You did the same thing...screamed like you were in pain. We tried to give you a bottle; you sucked for a few minutes then started screaming again. It was very unlike you to not eat. You didn't have a fever and it seemed like sucking was causing you pain so we thought you might have an ear infection. You fell asleep again on my chest and slept there for 2.5 hours. In that time, we called the doctor because we were concerned about you refusing to eat. They wanted to see us the next morning to check you out. When you woke up from that 2.5 hour nap, you were back to your normal self. You ate without crying, took another power nap, ate again, and slept 8 hours that night. The doctor said you were completely fine and healthy...I think he was kind of annoyed with us, but showed some grace when he realized we were first time parents. You went from 10:45 am that morning to 6 pm without eating. The only thing I can guess is that you had gas and your tummy was hurting, but we'll never know for sure.

We've started to hear the beginnings of your first little giggles.

I love our daily talks!

You went on your first overnight trip to Durham and were a rockstar!

Your sleep has gotten even better this month!
You've given us two 8 hour stretches, one almost 9 hour stretch, two 9 hour stretches, and one 11 hour stretch.
We're much more consistent with the 6-7 hour stretches so hopefully in the next month, the 9-11 hour stretches will become more consistent!

With that, you've gotten really good at putting yourself to sleep.
This is so nice, but also makes me a little sad. You'll still sleep on my chest for a cat nap if we're out and about and I can't lay you down for a nap.

You sneeze just about every time we turn the lights on in your room when you wake up then you give us the biggest smiles. It's so cute!

You're already beginning to get good at letting us know when you're unhappy/mad about something.
You scream and fuss when I try and get boogers out of your nose.
You fuss when you're ready to switch positions or don't like how you're being held.

You still LOVE bath time!

I got to celebrate my first Mother's Day with you

Happy 3 months, sweet girl! I can hardly believe it's already been 3 months. And I really can't believe how fast you're growing and changing!

I just love being your mommy SO much!
